Community Update: Technology Services Interrupted in the Borough of State College

The Borough of State College technology services remain down.  The Borough is continuing to work to restore services as quickly as possible.   If anyone needs to contact the Borough, please do so by phone during regular business hours. The community should anticipate delays in correspondence with the Borough via email.


If emergency services are needed, please call 911 at any time.


The Borough of State College Calder Way improvement Project Phase 2 is set to begin Tuesday, January 20. Construction will take place on Calder Way from South Fraser Street to South Atherton Street.

Beginning on Monday, February 16th the work zone will be extended from South Fraser Street to Burrowes Street. With the extension, Calder Way from South Fraser Street to Burrowes Street will be closed to vehicular traffic.


Contractors are continuing to work on replacing and upgrading sanitary sewer lines. The closure will allow the contractor to install a bypass pump that extends from Burrowes Street to Miller Alley. This past week they began saw cutting the road to prepare for next week.


Please remember that projects of this nature are fluid and often change, and they can be impacted by inclement weather.

Community Update: The Borough of State College Suffers Cybersecurity Attack

On Wednesday, February 11, the Borough of State College suffered a cybersecurity attack. The Information Technology division acted quickly to stop the attack. While the attack has been stopped, it will take several days to review and recover.

During this recovery time, the State College Municipal Building will remain open, along with telephone lines. Due to the attack impacting the Borough’s network, the community can expect a delay in staff responding to emails.

As more information becomes available, updates will be provided.

  • Sunday, April 19, at the State College Municipal Building, starting at 11 a.m. in the Community Room
  • Tuesday, April 21, at the State College Municipal Building, starting at 6 p.m. in the Community Room

Those interested in testing with the State College Police Department should apply to register for a testing date. While applying, interested candidates will need to select their preferred testing date, along with paying a $30 testing fee. Registration for this testing cycle will close on Thursday, April 2. Travel Restrictions on the 200 block of South Osmond Street

On Tuesday, February 10, State College Borough Public Works will be performing a sanitary sewer repair on the 200 block of South Osmond Street. Work will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will cause the entire roadway to be closed. Local residents will have access to their driveways from Metz Avenue. 

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution when traveling near work areas.
