UPDATE: Upcoming Travel Restrictions on East Beaver Avenue Between South Allen Street and South Pugh Street

From Monday, May 18, to Wednesday, May 20, State College Borough Water Authority (SCBWA) will be excavating 120 East Beaver Avenue between South Allen Street and South Pugh Street for pavement restoration. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will cause a lane to be restricted. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution when traveling near work areas. The Historical Architectural Review Board meeting on Tuesday, June 2, has been canceled. The next Historical Architectural Review Board Meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 7, at 7 p.m.

Upcoming Travel Restrictions on Clay Lane Between North Barnard Street and Coal Alley

On Tuesday, May 19, and Wednesday, May 20, West Penn Power will be excavating Clay Lane between North Barnard Street and Coal Alley to replace an existing electric pole and facilities. Work will take place between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. and will cause one travel lane and the sidewalk to be closed. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution when traveling near work areas. Questions about this project may go directly to West Penn Power by calling 814-389-6570.

On Tuesday, May 19, and Wednesday, May 20, PSU Utility Construction will be excavating East College Avenue between Burrowes Street and Atherton Street to repair a storm sewer. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and will cause one travel lane to be closed. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution when traveling near work areas. You're Invited to a Community Bike Ride 🚲

On Saturday, May 16, Sustainable State College and the Borough of State College Bicycle Ambassadors will host a 6.7-mile slow-paced family-friendly community bike ride. 

Participants will gather at the Orchard Park Pavilion by the parking lot at 9:45 a.m. and the ride will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Participants will ride on designated shared-use paths, bike lanes, and bike routes in the Centre Region. All ages and abilities are welcome!

The Design Review Board meetings on Tuesday, May 19, and Tuesday, June 2, have been canceled. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, at 2 p.m.
