Penn State and State College Borough are partnering once again to host PA Dignity Day on Wednesday, October 15, as part of the international celebration of Global Dignity Day. This year’s event will feature a free half-day conference from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hintz Family Alumni Center. The conference will include keynote speakers, dignity training, and community discussions, where you can share your insights about fostering dignity in our communities with fellow community members.

Everyone attending the entire conference can enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and the opportunity to network with fellow attendees, exchanging ideas and experiences. By sharing ideas, listening to each other, and working collaboratively, everyone can transform the community into a place where every individual feels safe, seen, heard, and valued.

For more information about the conference and to register, visit https://www.outreach.psu.edu/pa-dignity-day/.

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, October 11

World Migratory Bird Day is October 11

As birds make their way south for the winter, Sustainable State College and Bird Town Pennsylvania invite you to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, October 11, by dimming your lights at night to protect them on their routes.

Migratory birds and their habitats are declining in Pennsylvania. To raise public awareness about human-caused bird mortalities, join the Borough in in the "Lights Out State College" community event. Sign the pledge here to reduce artificial and unnecessary lighting from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on World Migratory Bird Day!

Learn more about Migratory Bird Day at www.statecollegepa.us/migratorybirds.
