CAR-FREE DAY is happening in State College!
Celebrate Car Free Day on Monday, September 22, by walking, biking, carpooling, or using public transit for a chance to win a $50 Downtown Improvement District gift card! Stop by the outside of Schlow Library (corner of Allen Street and Beaver Avenue) between 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. for a FREE cup of coffee ☕ just for showing up car-free!
How to participate:
✅ Leave the car at home — walk, bike, carpool, or take public transportation (like CATA 🚍) any time between September 22-28.
✅ Register your ride to be entered into a drawing for a $50 Downtown Improvement District Gift Card. Multiple rides can be registered.
Attend the Fall Job Fair on Oct. 7
Looking for employment in the State College area? The State College Borough is hosting a job fair on Tuesday, October 7, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel (1450 South Atherton Street). Employers from all around the area will be advertising open part-time and full-time career opportunities and internship positions. Stop by to discover your next employment opportunity.
FREE transportation is available via CATA bus services, however, arrangements must be booked by Tuesday, Sept. 30. Contact HRDept@statecollegepa.us to register for transportation.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for 406 South Pugh Street on Wednesday, September 10
You're invited to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 406 South Pugh Street on Wednesday, September 10, at 12:00 p.m.
Please join the State College Redevelopment Authority, in partnership with Centre Helps, in celebrating the rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of a former fraternity building. This project will provide critical crisis prevention and affordable housing services along the Borough’s Pugh Street commercial corridor.
Building tours and food trucks will be available following the ceremony.
