Complaints dealing with insect or rodent infestation, refuse, or weeds are investigated by the State College Health Department. To initiate a complaint of this type contact the Division of Health and Neighborhood Services at 814-234-7191.

The Borough's policy is to preserve and protect its neighborhoods. The Department of Neighborhood and Community identifies nuisance properties by analyzing complaint statistics; providing an opportunity for residents to bring their concerns about properties adversely affecting their neighborhoods; and eliminating on-going nuisances caused by irresponsible residents or property owners through the use of:

  • Enforcement
  • Fines
  • Mediation
  • Persuasion
  • Warnings
