Structural Conditions & Fire Code
Complaints dealing with the structural conditions of the rental property or the number of unrelated occupants in apartment units are investigated by Centre Region Code Administration Office. To initiate a complaint of this type contact the Code office at 814-231-3056.
The Borough's policy is to preserve and protect its neighborhoods. The Department of Neighborhood and Community identifies nuisance properties by analyzing complaint statistics; providing an opportunity for residents to bring their concerns about properties adversely affecting their neighborhoods; and eliminating on-going nuisances caused by irresponsible residents or property owners through the use of:
- Enforcement

- Mediation
- Persuasion
- Warnings

Rental Housing Permits
All rental housing in the Borough is required to have a rental permit and is regulated by the International Property Maintenance Code and Fire Prevention Code. Learn more rental housing permits.
Rental Housing Inspections
The Centre Region Code Administration inspects all rental housing to ensure compliance with the local codes and regulations. All rental properties are inspected at least once every 36-months. Learn more about rental housing inspections.
