Movies Under the Stars Series

Every summer, the Borough of State College's Community Engagement Division hosts a free movie series for community members. Movies take place in Sidney Friedman Park, weather permitting. If weather impacts the view of the movie, the movie will either be rescheduled or moved inside to the Community Room in the Municipal Building at 243 South Allen Street.

2026 Movies Under the Stars Series

The Borough of State College’s Movies Under the Stars series is back this summer 🎬 Grab your blankets or chairs, bring your friends and family, and enjoy unforgettable nights under the open sky!

This summer's lineup includes:

  • The Lorax on Friday, May 29
  • How to Train Your Dragon on Friday, July 17
  • Zootopia 2 on Friday, August 14
  • Wicked on Friday, September 18

Movies start at dusk in Sidney Friedman Park. This family-friendly event is open to all. Admission to the movies is FREE. A comfortable seat is all that is needed. More information on this summer's line up can be found here.
