Finding a Volunteer Opportunity in State College

The Borough of State College encourages residents interested in volunteering in the community to search for volunteer opportunities through the Community Help Centre. The Community Help Centre assists residents who are looking for volunteer opportunities by working with them to find a volunteer placement at either the Community Help Centre or with another agency in the area. Opportunities to volunteer can be found through The Volunteer Site, an online directory of volunteer opportunities in the area maintained by the Community Help Centre. Take thirty seconds to register for an account on The Volunteer Site, call (814) 234-8222, or stop in at 410 South Fraser Street to find volunteer opportunities that match your interests.

The Borough posts its volunteer opportunities on The Volunteer Site and also through the Borough's News Flash and email notification lists.

Flower Planting in Public Beds

Each summer with the help of community volunteers, flowers are planted in public beds throughout the Borough. Each spring we reach out to residents to request their help planting these flower beds. Please contact the Public Works Department if you would like to volunteer at a planting event, or subscribe to receive email and/or text message notifications when they are scheduled!
