The Commission shall have the following powers and duties:
o Complete and maintain an inventory of historic properties and resources in the Borough of State College.
o Develop and disseminate information regarding the identification, preservation, maintenance and restoration of historic properties and resources in the Borough of State College.
o Cooperate with other organizations in activities furthering the preservation and/or restoration of historic resources in the Borough of State College.
o Serve as an advisory resource for Borough Council and other Authorities, Boards, and Commissions, property owners and the general public when addressing issues that involve historic resources in the Borough of State College.
o Maintain coordination with the Centre County Historical Society and other organizations established to further the preservation and restoration of historic resources.
o Cooperate with historic preservation initiatives in neighboring municipalities and the Pennsylvania State University.
o Serve as the Borough's liaison with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
o Investigate the feasibility of establishing a revolving fund to assist in the acquisition and resale of historic properties to ensure they do not lose the characteristics that qualify them as historic.
o Prepare recommendations on amending the BOCA Codes as they apply to historic buildings.
