Event Announcement: FREE Community Seed Swap
State College would like to announce the Second Annual Community Seed Swap. Seed swaps are events where gardeners meet to exchange seeds. This event is designed to be more than the typical seed swap because attendees of this event will also have the opportunity learn about community gardens and resources in State College and tips from local experts.
The State College Office of Community Engagement is cosponsoring this event with Centre Moves, New Leaf Initiative and the Penn State Sustainable Food Program.
This event helps State College achieve its mission, “enhance the quality of life by fostering a safe, vibrant, diverse and sustainable community,” by encouraging attendees to be active both in the community and physically, while providing gardening resources.
The Community Seed Swap is a family-friendly event and all community members are encouraged to attend. No seeds or gardening experience is necessary.
This event will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m.
This event will be held at the New Leaf Initiative (243 South Allen Street, Suite 337) in Downtown State College.
Let your friends and family know you’re attending by saying you’re “Going” on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/758422717877413/.
