The State College Police are continuing to investigate the death of Penn State Student Timothy J. Piazza (19). On Friday, February 3, 2017, at around 10:49 a.m. police were summoned to 220 North Burrowes Road. Inside the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, officers found Piazza unconscious. Fraternity members reported that Piazza while intoxicated had fallen down basement stairs around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017, while attending a fraternity party. Piazza was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center and later flown to Hershey Medical Center. Piazza was pronounced dead on Saturday morning February 4, 2017. An autopsy is scheduled in Dauphin County. The State College Police will be working with the Pennsylvania State University Office of Student Affairs.
