Instagram School Threat
On September 16, 2016 at 10:20 pm, The State College Police were made aware of an instagram post. The account name was “scasdshooter” and the post contained images of the Columbine murderers with the caption, “inspiration for the event happening on Monday”. The State College Police School Resource Officer was contacted who notified the State College School District. The investigation continued on 9/17/2016 and a State College Middle School student called the State College Police to report that he was the poster and that it was meant to be a joke. The 14 year old student was interviewed with his parents and it was confirmed that he was the individual responsible for the posts. The investigation determined that there was not a credible threat. The juvenile was released to his parents and the District Attorney will be consulted. In addition, the State College School District will address this student’s actions

We are urging anyone who may have information regarding this incident to contact the State College Police Department at (814) 234-7150, by email or submit an anonymous tip through our website.
