On 1/20/2016 at 2:55 PM State College Police responded to a two vehicle crash with entrapment and injury. The crash occurred in the west bound lanes of the Mount Nittany Expressway (State Route 322) between E. College Avenue and E. Park Avenue in the area of the PENNDOT crossover.
 
A passenger car and tractor-trailer were involved in the crash. The passenger car was struck on the driver’s side by the tractor-trailer. The force of the impact spun the car across the media and it came to rest on the east bound shoulder facing east bound. The tractor-trailer came to rest in the median.
 
The male driver of the car suffered serious injuries and was subsequently flown by Life Flight helicopter to the UPMC Altoona trauma center for treatment. A female passenger in the car was transported to Mount Nittany Medical by LifeLink EMS for treatment. The driver of the truck was not injured.
 
Alpha Fire Department and Fire Police, Life Link EMS and PENNDOT also responded to the crash scene.
