On January 14, 2016, The State College Police were called to 623 West College Avenue for a report of a Trespass that just occurred. The victim’s reported that a man had entered their apartment and pulled a silver handgun. The suspect made verbal threats to the residents.
Police located the suspect a short distance away. William J. White (29) of State College was identified and was found to be in possession of a .22 caliber handgun as well as a stolen backpack. The stolen backpack came from an apartment at 607 West College Avenue. White was charged with Burglary (Felony - two counts), Criminal Trespass (Felony - two counts), Theft by Unlawful Taking (Misdemeanor), Terroristic Threats (Misdemeanor - two counts), Receiving Stolen Property (Misdemeanor), Possession of Instruments of Crime (Misdemeanor) and Public Drunk (Summary).
White was arraigned before District Judge Carmine Prestia and placed in Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $150,000 bail. It is anticipated additional charges against White will be filed upon completion of the investigation.
