The Centre Region Code Administration inspects all rental housing to ensure compliance with the ICC International Property Maintenance Code, 2003 Edition and issues notices of violations as required. Centre Region Code Administration conducts follow-up inspections to ensure all violations are corrected. Failure on the part of a property owner or tenant to correct violations can result in legal proceedings being initiated through the District Justice.
All rental properties are inspected at least once every 36 months. Rental property owners are notified, by a right-to-enter letter, of the scheduled inspection two weeks prior to the date. The Code Administration has created a pre-inspection checklist to help rental property owners prepare for an inspection.
