The State College Police Department is investigating an assault which occurred on Friday morning, November 16, 2012, at approximately 2:00 a.m. The incident occurred in the 100 block of East Beaver Avenue, near the CATA bus stop in front of Schlow Library.
The victim was identified on scene and was found to have head and facial injuries. The victim was initially transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by Centre LifeLink, and was later transported by ambulance to Altoona Regional Hospital for further treatment of facial fractures and a head injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was involved in a verbal dispute with an unknown male suspect. The suspect was described as a white male, between 20-30 years old, wearing a black jacket and jeans and having dark spiked hair. The victim and the male suspect then became involved in a physical altercation, which resulted in the victim being punched multiple times, falling to the ground and being kicked in the head and face. The suspect was reported to be accompanied by up to three other males, with one of the males possibly being involved in the assault. The suspect(s) and accompanying males were last seen leaving the area walking south on South Allen Street.
