The Downtown Master Plan provides a framework to guide growth and change in Downtown State College. It outlines five themes: Marketing, Connecting, Navigating, Living in, and Managing the District.
The Planning Commission prepared a Neighborhood Plan, which was adopted by Council in 2014. The Plan combines recommendations of various planning efforts with citizen-identified issues.
Council, along with the Planning Commission and Redevelopment Authority, are currently considering redevelopment opportunities for properties in the 200 block of South Allen Street.
State College Borough uses the results of citizen surveys on community characteristics, governance and participation in developing strategic priorities and measuring performance.
