Aggressive Assault Investigation The State College Police Department is investigating an Aggravated Assault that occurred on Saturday morning, March 20, 2010 at approximately 2:30 am. The incident occurred in the 400 block of East College Avenue near the intersection of East College Avenue and Sowers Street. The victim was found unconscious, lying in the roadway. He was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by Centre Lifelink, where he was found to have serious head injuries. He was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville by Life-flight.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was involved in some sort of altercation. As the altercation progressed, the victim was struck by an unknown suspect causing him to fall into the street. The victim was then observed being assaulted by five or six African-American males as he lay in the street.
Information indicates this incident may have been captured on video by several witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact the State College Police at (814) 234-7150.
