Board of Health

What is the Board of Health?


The Board of Health was created by the State College Borough Council in 1914.

The Board provides advice on all health-related legislation and policies intended to prevent the introduction and spread of infectious or contagious diseases and such other rules and regulations which are deemed necessary to preserve the public health.

The Board meets quarterly, in the afternoon. For questions, call (814) 234-7191.

Current Members

The Board consists of five members, appointed by Council to serve in an advisory capacity on matters of public health. Members serve 5-year terms.
